12-Year-Old Girl Raped By 22 Men For 7 Months

A 12-Year-Old Girl, who is hearing impaired, was raped by 22 Men for a period of seven months at an Apartment Complex in Purasawalkam, Chennai. The Accused used injections and offered drug-laced soft drinks to the victim before the sexual assault.
66-Year-Old Ravi Kumar who worked as Elevator Operator was the first to sexually exploit the Class XII Girl. Three days later, Two others joined him and the act was videographed. They blackmailed the girl using the video footage.
Ravi Kumar used to take the girl to the basement, washrooms, terrace and gym of the complex soon after she got down from the school bus. While the girl's father wasn't at home most of the day due to work, Her Mother who is a home maker hardly noticed any change in the girl's behaviour. She assumed her daughter might be playing with friends after school whenever the girl arrived late. Finally, Parents came to know about the disturbing crime when the victim shared the ordeal with her Elder Sister who arrived from Delhi. A Police Complaint was lodged and Doctors confirmed rape by multiple people. Medical Examination was done to find out the kind of drugs being used by accused.
So far, 18 out of 22 Accused who are mostly security guards, plumbers, elevator operators working at the Apartment Complex are arrested. Teams have been formed to trace the absconding assailants. Cops seized syringes, soft drink bottles and condoms during the raid.
