Believe it or not, Two Deaths per minute have been happening in India due to air pollution. Every year, 10 lakh people have been dying in the country because of the air they breathe.
In the latest study of medical journal The Lancet, More than one million deaths have been taking place in India due to severe air pollution. It mentioned that India is the country with some of the worst polluted cities in the World. Especially, The smog generated in the North Indian region is a huge threat to the mankind.
Around 1.6 million out of 2.7 to 3.4 million pre-term births happened in South Asia alone. Air Pollution is already declared as the fourth deadliest reason behind premature deaths worldwide. 18,000 people die per day across the globe due to air pollution.World Bank estimates Air Pollution costs Global Economy USD 225 million a year when it comes to loss of labour income.
