6 AP Students scale Mount Everest

Six out of 19 Students sent by AP Government for Mount Everest expedition has successfully accomplished the mission. K Satya Rao & S Nagaraju (Visakha), K Durga Rao (East Godavari), G Suresh Babu & Tammineni Bharat (Kurnool) and V Krishna Rao (V Srikakulam) are the first to scale Mt Everest this season. Three more Students are likely to scale the Mount Everest within couple of days.

The Mount Everest expedition was launched in Kathmandu on April 9th. A base camp was set at an altitude of 5,100 metres on April 19th. By May 10th, They had reached 8,300 metres altitude. The highest peak (8,850 metres) has been reached by the students on May 13th.

19 Students chosen for Everest summit were shortlisted from 400 Aspirants after a 3-level Testing. Mountaineer B Sekhar Babu guided the students to the Everest expedition.
