News Channel 99TV which was run by CPI (M) until now has been acquired by a Jana Sena Leader. Former IAS Thota Chandrasekhar bought the loss-making media house. The new management took over the channel on Wednesday upon performing few rituals.

Earlier, There is strong buzz that Pawan Kalyan would acquire news channel 10TV in which Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad holds majority stake. Even this channel belongs to the CPI-M. However, Legal Issues forced both the parties to cancel the deal.

Thota Chandrasekhar was an IAS Officer of 1987 batch from Maharashtra. He obtained VRS in the year 2008. He is also the head of Aditya Group of Industries.

In 2009 Polls, Thota Chandrasekhar unsuccessfully contested on PRP Ticket from Guntur. Later, He moved to YSR Congress but faced defeat in 2014 Polls. He is currently an active member of Jana Sena Party.

Not many knew that Thota Chandrasekhar owns digital media network News Wave whose operations were handled by Ex-TV9 Editor Alapati Suresh Kumar. News Wave Team would run 99TV from now.

Needless to say 99TV will be the mouth-piece of Jana Sena Party. Already, The mission to promote PK & his Party aggressively has begun.
