Post 2014 General Elections, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu began presenting Agriculture Budget separately to send a message that his government is pro-Farmer.

Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao on Wednesday presented AP Agriculture Budget for the financial year 2017-18. He claimed AP Government has supplied seeds to the farmers through bio-metric method for the first time in the country.

Mr.Pulla Rao says Irrigation Water has been provided to 10 lakh acres by inter-linking the rivers. He informs about the introduction of a new law for Seeds and setting up Mega Seed Park in Kurnool district.

TDP Government allotted Rs 9,091 crore for Agriculture & Allied Sectors for the financial year 2017-18.

Rs 3,300 crore for Power Subsidy offered to Farmers

Rs 1,600 crore for Irrigation Water

Rs 1,015 crore for Fruit Farms

Rs 308 crore for Acharya NG Ranga University

Rs 174 crore for Cooperative Sector

Rs 172 crore for Interest-free Loans

Rs 147 crore for New Methods in Farming

Rs 55 crore for Expansion of Oil Farm

Rs 25 crore for Natural Farming

Rs 18 crore for Rythu Bandhu Scheme

Rs 17 crore for Polam Pilusthundhi Programme

Rs 5 crore for 5 Paisa Interest Loan

AP stood No.1 in the country when it comes to production of Black Gram, Maize, Papaya, Prawns and Fish. It hold second place in the production of Mangoes and Tomatoes. AP is at 4th Place in Meat Production and 5th Spot in terms of Milk Production.
