AP Official shoots selfie video before suicide

N Ravi Kumar, a senior assistant in the Medical & Health Department in Guntur District, committed suicide over harassment from Senior Officials. He was working in the Community Health Centre at Ponnuru.
Two days ago, Ravi Kumar consumed poison and breathed his last while under treatment in a private hospital. In the selfie video, He alleged Higher Officials has demanded Rs 70,000 from him for promotion. 'Even after paying my hard-earned money to them, I was denied promotion for several years. Though I am the senior most staffer in the department, Promotion was denied and they posted me to Ponnuru instead of DMHO Office in Guntur. Those who charged money from Me humiliated me saying I could do nothing to them even if I die. I don't want to live anymore. Please take action against them at least after my death,' he added.
After the video surfaced on Facebook on Friday, Ravi Kumar's Wife Pushpalata and Dalit Organisations staged a protest before the Medical and Health Department Office in Guntur demanding action against the Officials. Pushpalata alleged justice was denied to them though her husband submitted many petitions to the Authorities seeking action. Ravi Kumar's Daughters revealed their Father couldn't even sleep for the past few days as he used to see the faces of those officials if he close his eyes. They questioned what wrong did he do for facing mental harassment.
