A good thought can become a lifeline to crores of people. It can save the lives of lakhs of people. It is the basic responsibility of the governments to offer their support to the citizens in times of emergency situations. The late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy has taken up an innovative scheme after identifying such an emergency. The scheme has become a lifeline to crores of people sand saved lakhs of lives. The programme has been followed by several other states in India.

108 is one of the main programmes which had brought laurels to the YSR Government. That's the reason why YSR mentioned about 108 programme often in his election campaign in 2009, Though the programme is implemented by YSR, it was Dr. Pandurangarao who suggested the idea to YSR.

The basic idea is to offer immediate medical services to the people who are in an emergency situation. So the ambulances will take them to the nearest hospitals on emergency basis. When Dr. Pandurangarao has discussed this idea with YSR, he understood the benefits people would get so he immediately implemented the programme. Dr.Pandurangarao who is the main inspiration behind 108, has breathed his last in the early hours of Sunday. Mr. Panduranga Rao is survived by his wife and a son. His last rites were completed in Punjagutta graveyard.

Pandurangarao is one of the prominent physicians in Hyderabad. He hails from Vallabhi village, Mudigonda Mandal, Khammam district. He completed his MBBS in 1965 from Osmania University. He worked in Burgampadu government hospital as a Medical officer before he shifted to Hyderabad. 108, 104 services in government-private partnership has been widely appreciated by everybody. Even the Central government is impressed with the scheme. It is our basic duty to pay our respect to the man behind this good scheme. Hats off to you sir.
