During his visit to Manila for the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a brief interaction with US President Donald Trump. The two global leaders smiled and shook hands when they came face to face with each other. They both will hold a meeting during this trip to deepen bilateral ties.
Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Philippines capital Manila in 36 years. He took to Twitter to say his visit to Manila shows India's commitment to strengthening ties with the ASEAN Member States.
All the Leaders wore Philippines national dress 'Barong Tagalong' for the dinner meeting. Modi interacted by Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev and Malaysian PM Najib Razak at the pre-dinner reception.
Trade dealings between India & ASEAN amounts to $65.04 billion in 2015-16 financial year. This comprises 10.12 percent of India's business dealings with entire World.
