Akbar Wasn't Great At All: UP CM

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath opined Mughal Emperor Akbar wasn't great like 16th Century Mewar King Maharana Pratap. He lauded the fight back of Maharana Pratap for his forts and never accepting Akbar as a King.
Yogi Adityanath stated Maharana Pratap hasn't accepted Akbar as a king as he was a turk who can't be trusted. He went on to say, 'Maharana Pratap remained relevant even after five centuries of his death. He fought for years in the hills of Aravalli with his self-respect and won back his forts'.
While mentioning about the 1576 Haldighati battle, Yogi told who won or who lost it is unimportant. 'Akbar asked Pratap to accept him as king by promising he won't interfere in the matters of Mewar Kingdom. However, Pratap made it clear he won't accept a foreigner as king. Whereas, Other kings put their self-respect at stake by accepting Akbar as king,' recalled the Chief Minister.
Yogi asked SCs, Tribals and Backward Communities to claim they are Pratap's descendent by saying these tribes had made Maharana great. He told Akbar was unable to hurt Pratap even when he was fighting against all the odds.
Opposition Parties have been accusing BJP of planning to divide people based on religion for reaping benefits in 2019 Polls. SP Leader Rajendra Chowdary advised Yogi to focus on the administration instead of gone era.
