YS Jaganmohan Reddy is doing everything he can to earn a permanent place in the hearts of Andhrites. He now took a firm decision for the creation of more employment opportunities for the people of AP.
The AP Employment of Local Candidates in Industries/Factories Act, 2019 was introduced in the Assembly and passed as well. The new law guarantees 75 percent of private jobs in Industrial Units, Factories and Joint Ventures. This rule applies for the Projects happening in the Public-Private Partnership Mode. Most importantly, Companies need to follow this rule whether or not they receive financial or other assistance from the State Government.
In case if Locals doesn't possess necessary skills to receive the placement, Then Companies will have to train the aspirants in association with the State Government and then hire them. This measure was taken to ensure Companies doesn't make any excuses such as unavailability of skilled labour.
Firms should comply with provisions of the law within 3 years from now. They will have to submit quarterly reports to a nodal agency mentioning about the percentage of locals. This is for the first time in the country, A State Government has come up with such a Legislation.
