AP may get 'nominal' Special Status

Union Government is facing the heat after Pawan Kalyan declared his agenda during Tirupati Public Meeting. The BJP Leadership came to know that the sentiment is so strong and it would be crushed alike Congress if acted against people's wish.
As per the latest indications, Centre is seriously considering the possibilities of announcing nominal Special Category Status. AP's share in Central Grants might be increased from 60% to 90%.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and TDP Leader Sujana Chowdhary have been holding meetings to find out a solution. Speaking to media, Sujana Chowdhary told Centre might finalize the draft within couple of days.
TDP Government wants sanction of 90% of Central funds in the form of grants. It is stressing the need to provide sufficient funds to Polavaram project with the help of Nabard to complete it in a time-bound manner. Setting up of Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam is another demand.
