BJP Central Leaders Slam Dr Laxman For Support Remarks

Did BJP Telangana chief Dr K Laxman err in offering support to the TRS in forming the government? The BJP high commands thinks so. When Laxman made an unsolicited offer of support to the TRS in the formation of the Government, the political class had a hearty laugh. The results were not yet out and the nobody knows who gets how many seats. As of now, nothing has been decided. The TRS is supremely confident that it would get the required numbers to form the Government. Then, why did Laxman make such premature statement and Daggubati Purandeswari backed him from AP?
Sources say this has got to do with the internal politics of the BJP. There is a strong section within the party, which wants to join the TRS-led Government and enjoy the fruits of power in the state. Laxman leads this pack. In fact, Laxman has never been very vocal in criticising the TRS Government. In fact, he had maintained good relations with KCR and KTR. He was happy to play a second fiddle to KTR, when the latter toured Musheerabad constituency sometime ago.
So, Laxman was only baring his pro-TRS stance when he offered support to the TRS. Muralidhara Rao, the general secretary of the party, has clearly said that there was no need to hurry through on the issue of exteding the support to the TRS. "Let's wait for the results to be out," he said.
