BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha declared around 80 percent of the saffron party leaders and cadre want LK Advani to be the President of India. He went on to describe the Veteran as his friend, philosopher, guru and an ultimate leader.
Weeks before BJP Leadership picked up Ram Nath Kovind, Mr.Sinha ran a campaign on Twitter for making LK Advani the next President. However, His plans didn't yield any results as Modi Camp had different agenda.
Shatrughan Sinha was part of LK Advani's Group which opposed the proposal to make then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as BJP's Prime Ministerial Candidate in 2013. This campaign wasn't entertained and Modi got what he wanted in the end.
Narendra Modi has sidelined LK Advani after forming the government citing the 75-plus Rule he adopted. He was even denied the opportunity to be the President citing the Ayodhya case.
