Girl Students agitation, 1000 FIRs Filed!

The protests launched by the Girl Students of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) of Varanasi took a violent turn on Saturday. Police resorted to lathi-charge against the students who demanded protection for themselves in the campus after a girl was molested by three male students on Thursday.
A viral video shows how a cop pushed a student, who fell on the ground, and then two other police personnel thrashed her. UP CM Yogi Adityanath ordered for a probe into the video in circulation.
As many as 1,000 FIRs were registered against Students on charges of vandalism and arson. Students and few Journalists got injured during the lathi-charge. Vice Chancellor Girish Chandra Tripathi assured Girl Students that CCTV Cameras will be installed inside the campus. Still, The students haven't called off the protest and sought an assurance from PM over their safety.
Rahul Gandhi alleged Lathi-Charge in the campus is BJP's version of 'Beti Bachao - Beti Padhao'. BHU announced holiday for students in advance from Monday, instead of September 28th to bring the situation under control. Students opined they were treated worse than cattle after Modi didn't respond on the issue.
