Chandrababu Naidu, it appears , is still unable to understand the reasons for the TDP's inglorious defeat. The party received its worst ever drubbing in these elections. It managed to win just 23 MLAs seats and 3 MP seats while the YSRCP romped home with 151 MLAs seats and 22 MP seats.
During a review meeting on Friday, Chandrababu Naidu has once again said that he still was unable to gauge as to why the TDP has lost so badly. "We did not do any wrong. Yet, the people rejected us so conclusively. I still do not know why the voters had rejected us," he told his party workers. He said that the TDP government had implemented several welfare schemes and took up several important projects. Yet, the people voted us out, he said. He said usually, there would be some reason or the other for a party’s defeat. But, there is no apparent reason this time to explain our defeat, he said.
However, party leaders who attended the meet, were very clear about their opinions. They said Chandrababu had lost people's connect as he depended only on the officials. It is because of the over dependence on the bureaucras that the TDP has got completely distance from the people, said party leader Jupudi Prabhakar Rao. Several other leaders echoed the same opinion.
