Income Tax Raids on Sahara Group in 2014 created a sensation. Few Diaries which were seized by the IT Sleuths have the names of politicians for whom bribes have been offered.
During the hearing of this case in Supreme Court Today, Advocate Prasanth Bhushan disclosed that name of Congress Leader & Senior Lawyer Salmaan Qureshi featured in the Sahara Diaries four times. He went on to say names of Sushma Swaraj, Chandrababu Naidu, Mulayam Singh, Mayawati, Pramod Mahajan's Daughter, Lalu Prasad Yadav, LK Advani, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Pharooq Abdullah, Uddav Thackrey, Raj Thackrey and Digvijay Singh appeared in the diaries. One of the names include 'Dada'. No one knows who is he?
A PIL has been filed alleging PM Narendra Modi received bribe from Birla & Sahara when he was the chief minister of Gujarat. Supreme Court, however, opined charges can't be leveled against individuals in respectable posts based on contents in diaries. IT Department has already confirmed that the documents submitted by the petitioner are fake.
