The other day, Centre sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 1,976 crore to Andhra Pradesh. About 1,176 crore, Rs 450 crore and Rs 350 crore were granted for addressing Revenue Deficit, financial assistance for AP Capital construction and Backward Districts respectively.

As expected, AP Government isn't satisfied with the minimal financial assistance. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who is no more willing to hide his emotions rued about the fact that support from Centre is nominal. He claimed to be clueless over the attitude of Union Government in addressing the serious issues and assurances given to AP. In the end, He sought Special Status else a Special Package on par with Bhundelkhand for AP.

Naidu blamed Centre for ignoring the Supreme Court's directive of wrapping up the division of Higher Education. He feared such kind of approach from the Union Government only pushes AP into the dark ages.
