Chennai Trekkers Found Dead In Kurangani Forest!

Chennai Trekking Club members went on an trekking expedition to Kurangani forest in Tamil Nadu - Kerala border.

They were a group of youngsters who belonged to CTC, who are trekking enthusiasts. 25 young women, 8 men, from Chennai and 13 members from Erode and Tiruppur participated in this expedition.

Suddenly, one woman found out that the fire has spread to their camp and she called Forest Department for help.

They started their trails to bring the forest wildfire down but till now 9 members have been burnt alive and 17 members are rescued from fire.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edapadi Palani Swamy requested Indian Air Force help and they brought down the fire. Rescue teams are searching for other missing people. Vice CM, Panneer Selvam is monitoring from Theni District Collector office and CM, Edapadi will visit the location soon.

Kerala Government also sent rescue teams to trace out remaining members i the group.

Chennai Trekking Club is a non-profit club for group of trekking enthusiasts but does the group has an expert who knows all kinds of hills and understands the different challenges or not is a big question mark.

The Club claimed that everyone is responsible for their own life and they are just encouraging an online platform to bring people together.
