Presidential Polls: Cross-Voting helped Kovind!
X
NDA's Candidate Ram Nath Kovind received 65.65 percent of votes in the recently concluded Presidential Votes. While Mr.Kovind secured 2,930 votes which are valued 7,02,044, Opposition's Candidate Meira Kumar secured 1,844 with a value of 3,67,314.

Actually, Cross-Voting in several states by Opposition Lawmakers has boosted the vote share of NDA Nominee. BJP General Secretary Bhupender Yadav declared as many as 116 Opposition Lawmakers had voted in favour of Ram Nath Kovind and 30-35 of them were MPs.

NDA Candidate received 20 votes in excess to the strength of BJP & its Ally in Maharashtra.

At least 8 Congress MLAs in Gujarat voted for Ram Nath Kovind.

Though BJP or its allies don't have any representation in Left-ruled Tripura, 7 Votes were polled for NDA Candidate.

In Mamata-ruled West Bengal, NDA's Tally is just 6 but it received the votes of altogether 11 MLAs in Kovind's Favour.

Cross-Voting happened in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Goa and Haryana as well. Opposition Parties could do nothing though cross-voting took place because it's near impossible to find out who violated party's order because of secret voting.
