Kiran Kumar Reddy quit the Congress Party which made him Chief Minister in 2014 by accusing it of doing injustice to Seemandhra. Four years later, He joined the same party by declaring Congress alone could fulfill the Bifurcation promises.

While speaking to media in Delhi, Kiran Kumar Reddy slammed State and Central Governments for neglecting the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act 2014. He claimed his bonding with Congress remains forever.

TDP MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad who served as Minister during Congress regime alleged Kiran Kumar Reddy was involved in Rs 10,000 crore corruption. In a TV Channel debate, Dokka said: 'Kiran Kumar Reddy resorted to Rs 10,000 crore corruption at the time of bifurcation. I had even complained to Governor about it. Then, Governor himself told corruption happened to the tune of Rs 3,000 crore not Rs 10,000 crore. Kiran was the richest CM and most corrupt politician in the country. I would disclose the letters sent to Governor and AICC to report Kiran's corruption'.

Dokka mocked Kiran Kumar Reddy, who killed the parent party during bifurcation, for claiming he would revive Congress. He went on to say Kiran's Re-entry would fetch Congress a single vote, nothing more.
