Popular Soaps and Shampoo brand Dove faced a severe backlash from the netizens for a body wash ad which was posted on the company's Facebook page. The ad has shown a black woman removing her brown shirt which reveals a white woman eventually. Many netizens slammed 'Dove' company for the insensible ad.

Dove realised the mistake later and removed the FB post and gave an explanation "Missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. It did not represent the diversity of real beauty which is something Dove is passionate about and is core to our beliefs, and it should not have happened ... we apologize deeply and sincerely for the offense that it has caused."

Even though Dove company resorted to damage control the ad has gone viral in the social media. CNN commentator Keith Boykin wrote on his Twitter that "Okay, Dove... One racist ad makes you suspect. Two racist ads make you kinda guilty." posting the above photograph (The second one showing the transformation of a black woman into a white woman in before and after the image was another Dove ad from 2011).

A netizen opined that "The ad gives an impression that black skin is dirty and white skin is clean".
