KCR - You Can't Distribute Cheques: EC

As expected, Election Commission hasn't only stalled the distribution of Bathukamma Sarees but also imposed restrictions on the second phase of Rythu Bandhu Scheme. Orders have been passed to the TRS Government to stop the distribution of cheques to the farmers with immediate effect.
Election Commission of India Principal Secretary RK Rudola wrote a letter to Telangana's Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar on Friday. A clear indication was given by EC that only the beneficiaries identified in the past can receive the benefits of Rythu Bandhu scheme.
TRS Government couldn't add new entries in the beneficiaries list of Rythu Bandhu Scheme. In addition, Govt could neither hold any function to distribute the cheques nor publicize the scheme to claim credit. EC recommended transfer of the amount into the accounts of beneficiaries rather than distribution of cheques.
