While India faced defeat by a margin of 18 runs playing against New Zealand in the Semi Final on Wednesday, Australia is on the verge of defeat in Today's Semi Final against England.
Batting first, Australia could only manage 223 runs before it lost all the 10 wickets. Yet another Top Order Collapse was witnessed in the Semi Finals. Warner, Finch and Handscomb were dismissed in the first few overs itself and Australia was found reeling at 14 for 3. Steve Smith and Alex Carey tried to stabilise the innings but none of the other batsmen performed well to post a par score.
Chasing a below par-score of 224, England Openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow took complete advantage of the situation. They made 124 runs in 17 overs without losing a wicket. Which means, England is just 100 runs away from sealing the final berth. Australia taking 10 wickets to stop England from reaching final looks highly impossible in the current situation.
