YCP Government on Friday constituted an Expert Committee to suggest a strategy for all-round development of Andhra Pradesh including Capital Amaravati. Professor of Planning, Dean (Academic) Dr. Mahaveer; School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, Dr. Anjali Mohan; Urban and Regional Planner, Prof. Shivananda Swamy CEPT, Ahmadabad; SPA (Retd), Delhi School of Architecture, Delhi Prof K.T. Ravindran and Former Chief Urban Planner, Chennai Dr. KV Arunachalam would be the members of the high-level panel. Retired IAS Officer GN Rao will be the convenor of the Expert Panel.
The New Committee willn't only review the development works initiated so far but also come up with a development strategy for all-round development of the state. This Panel can also include a member who is an expert in environmental issues and flood management. A detailed report will be submitted to the Government by the panel within 6 weeks.
Post the formation of YCP Government, All the works in the AP Capital has came to a halt as CM Jaganmohan Reddy decided to review the situation and opt for reverse tendering if corruption happened. So, There is uncertainty over the development works in AP Capital. Setting up the Expert Panel is a wise decision by the State Government. It shows how committed the Chief Minister is like to develop the state.
