Fire Mishap At A Counting Centre In AP

On Monday night, A Fire Mishap took place at one of the counting centres in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
Election Commission made all the arrangements for counting at an Engineering College located on the outskirts of Tirupati Town. Last night, Fire broke out at this counting centre. Fire Safety Personnel had put off the fire.
Authorities suspect Short Circuit could have been the reason behind the fire accident. They assured that fire hadn't spread to the Strong Room where Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were stored. Tirupati Collector PS Pradyumna and SP Vikrant Patil visited the counting centre to assess the situation.
Counting of Votes polled in 2019 Elections would begin on Thursday morning. Results will be delayed by 5 hours due to the counting of VVPAT Slips. Complete Results could arrive only by Friday morning.
