The defection game that Chandrababu Naidu played seems to be boomeranging. His own Machiavellian machinations are now exploding in his face. His most trusted lieutenants are now all set to ditch him. Post the humiliating defeat of Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh, the BJP is getting ready to lure five of the six Rajya Sabha MPs of the Telugu Desam Party into its fold. This is part of the deadly and crippling attack that the BJP is planning to completely debilitate Babu and the TDP. This, pundits say, is the BJP way of teaching a lesson to Chandrababu, who made wholly unacceptable and below-the-belt attacks on Modi and the BJP.
Meanwhile, at least four Rajya Sabha MPs are said to be very unhappy with Chandrababu's ways and are now getting ready to raise a banner of revolt. Already, Lok Sabha MP Kesineni Nani has created sensation by posting rebellious tweets on the social media. Five MPs, which surprisingly includes some of Babu's best buddies, see no future for the TDP. They feel that it would be difficult for the TDP to revive itself as Chandrababu is already past his prime and that there is no alternative leader in the party. These MPs feel that Chandrababu has committed a huge mistake by opposing Narendra Modi and that they should not pay for Babu's faults. They have already got in touch with the BJP bosses in Delhi, including Ram Madhav and Kishan Reddy. They are - Sujana Chowdary, CM Ramesh, TG Venkatesh, Garikapati Mohan Rao and Thota Sitaramalakshmi. Sources say that it is only a matter of time before these people raise the banner of revolt. As and when it happens, the TDP would face the biggest crisis of its lifetime.
