Hate Crimes continue to happen in US no matter how the Governments of India and US respond. After attacking Indian-origin individuals such as Srinivas Kuchibhotla, Harnish Patel and Deep Rai, Americans has been targeting the residences and business establishment set up by Indians. Recently, A Top Executive of Wipro sent an e-mail to his team members alerting them about the situation by sharing the news that an employee's house in Houston has been ransacked.
Now, A Convenience Store set up by an Indian-origin at 100 Prima Vista Blvd in Port St.Lucie has been attacked by an American. Richard Lloyd, a 64-Year-Old American, has been detailed by Florida Cops for alleged involvement in this hate crime. This Senior Citizen has set the Convenience Store ablaze. Timely action by fire-safety personnel has prevent a huge damage to the property.
The Accused assumed that the Convenience Store belongs to an Arab-Muslim and planned to destroy it. In reality, It is owned by an Indian-born.
During the interrogation, Richard Lloyd told he targeted the store as he was denied a pack of Tropicana Juice when he visited it last week. He is now facing Hate-Crime Charges.
