Just when the protests were staged all over Tamil Nadu over the ban on bull-taming sport, 'Fox Jallikattu' is being organized at Chinnamanaichenpalayam Village in the neighboring state on Wednesday. The animal was brought to the temple for worshipping and garlanded with flowers. This event took place in the presence of Forest Officials inspite of foxes come under the Wildlife Protection Act.

Officials tied the mouth of the Fox to prevent it from biting the participants. Even the legs were tied with a rope. Whoever catches it would be declared as a winner! Villagers say Fox Jallikattu is conducted on the day of 'Kaanum Pongal' every year. They would leave the Fox in the forest after the end of sport.

On the other hand, Traders decided to stop selling soft drinks such as Coca Cola and Pepsi until the ban on Jallikattu wasn't lifted. Students protesting at the Merina Beach alleged foreigners have been behind the ban. They expressed their anguish by pouring soft drinks in the sand. Subsequently, Traders decided not to sell Pepsi & Cola any more.
