Here is a gem of remarkable journalism. No other media perhaps will publish such an invaluable news item. A UKG student has conducted a state-wide survey and claimed that Chandrababu Naidu and his Telugu Desam will win a landslide in AP. The UKG kid has predicted on the basis of his survey that the TDP will get up to 100 seats and will form a government again in AP.
Shocked? Surprised? Sounds unbelievable? Unbelievable but true. A report in the Vijayawada district tabloid of Andhra Jyothi daily on May 20 published this bizarre story of a kid conducting a statewide survey. The boy, identified as Sheikh Naheed, called for a press conference at his home and the mediaperson of the newspaper rushed to the spot to take an interview with the boy. This was a prominently published with a photograph of the boy in the esteemed newspaper just because the body predicted a TDP victory.
So much for journalistic values. The reporter brought the story. The media desk published the item without even bothering to verify as to how a boy of five years can conduct a 'State-wide' survey. No one even tried to question as to how a five year old could conduct such a massive survey.
