Heavy Rush For MLA - No Demand For MP!
X
Strangely, The demand for MP Seats has been gradually declining. Sitting Malkajgiri MP Mallareddy, Peddapalli MP Balka Suman, Congress MP Candidates like Sarve Satyanarayana, Ponnam Prabhakar and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy contested in the 2018 Assembly Polls. In AP, Hindupur MP Nimmala Kristappa is keen to contest in the Assembly Polls. There were rumours that even Guntur MP Galla Jaydev is having similar plans. For some reasons, Most of the Sitting MPs have been preferring the Assembly Polls.

Analysts say, An MP Candidate of any major political party should be able to spend at least Rs 5 crore for each of the 7 Assembly Constituencies in the Parliament Segment. Including other expenses such as party fund, Overall expenditure would be not less than Rs 50 crore.

Until 2016, Black Money Holders used to contest in the elections to convert the black money into white. The situation changed drastically after the introduction of Demonetisation, GST and measures taken to curb Black Money. There is no guarantee for victory even after spending Rs 50 crore by taking the risk. This is why leading Industrialists haven't been keen to contest in the Lok Sabha Polls. Rising Expenditure, Less Returns & Complications Involved are the three key reasons for lack of demand.
