High Court Stay On Basavatarakam Kits

TDP Government planned to launch Basavatarakam Kits scheme months before the 2019 General Elections. There was severe criticism over naming the welfare scheme after Nandamuri Basavatarakam who was no way associated with the Government. Still, CM Chandrababu Naidu has decided to go ahead with the decision on the eve of Independence Day.

Much to the shock of AP Government, High Court issued a stay order on Basavatarakam Kits Scheme. Tenders were called by fixing the price tag of each kit as Rs 1,038. Although a company came forward to provide the kits for low cost than the competitors, Government has given the contract to the company which quoted high amount for undisclosed reasons.

Chandrababu Naidu has been handling the Health Ministry after the resignation of BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas. Which means, He himself finalized the pricing of the Basavatarakam Kit and company which should be given the contract.

However, High Court didn't allow the roll out of Basavatarakam Kits scheme on August 15th, 2018.
