KCR - You Can't Shift Dharna Chowk: HC

Hyderabad High Court found fault with TRS Government over imposing a ban on the protests at Dharna Chowk located in Indira Park, Hyderabad.
High Court maintained, 'This is India. Protests have to be staged in the presence of people and nobody could curtail the voice of public. Indira Park exist since several decades, residences had come up later. What is the use of protesting in deserted places? It's as useless as setting up cell towers in the forests'.
The Bench asserted Government can't deny the right to speech guaranteed by the Constitution. Government was asked to impose reasonable restrictions at Dharna Chowk if the protests cause inconvenience to the public.
CM KCR proposed shifting of Dharna Chowk to the outskirts of Hyderabad citing few parties have been creating issues in the name of protests. But now, High Court denied permission for any such move.
