Highly skilled Indians are facing heat in another country now. Britain government is tightening immigration policies in the lines of USA. The government is planning to come up with stringent rules for the immigrants who are applying for the permanent residence in the UK. NRIs who are staying in the UK are worried about the developments and they are planning to stage protests against the 'Hostile' immigration policies, amendments proposed by Prime Minister Theresa May. They are saying that they will be severely affected by the proposed changes in the immigration policies. They are demanding the government to withdraw the amendments.

NRIs are planning to stage protests outside the Parliament. They are also planning to include the migrants of other countries in their protests. Highly Skilled Migrants(HSM) group has nearly 1000 members. The group consists of doctors, engineers, IT employees, teachers who are outside the European Union(EU). HSM is including South Asian and African skilled migrants in their protest. NRIs who are planning the protests in 10 Downing Street revealed that migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria will participate in the protests.

The immigrants who applied for permanent residency(Indefinite Leave To Remain-ILR) are facing delays and rejections. So they are planning to stage protests. Aditi Bhardwaj, who is a member of the immigrants union said that several people are pledging their support to the rally as skilled migrants are refused ILRs without showing valid reasons. The highly skilled immigrants who entered the UK with Tier-1(General) visa are eligible for permanent residence if they have lived there for five years.
