Maha Kutami has been formed and the seat sharing is being worked out. The TDP and the TJS, which demanded more seats, have now mellowed down and want only a handful of seats. But, there is one constituency on which all the parties are very particular. No one is yielding.
The TDP wants to contest from Jubilee Hills and is in no mood to give this seat to any other party. The Congress too wants the seat. With both the parties adamant about the role, there is a stalemate.
In 2014, the TDP won the seat, while the Congress candidate, Vishnuvardhan Reddy, stood in the third place. However, after winning TDP candidate Maganti Gopinath joined the TRS and now wants to contest from the same seat on the TRS ticket. While Vishnuvardhan Reddy, who was the MLA in 2009, wants to contest on the Congress seat, He is also confident that the TDP will transfer its votes to the Congress. However, there is a hitch. Film producer Bandla Ganesh, who recently joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi, too wants this seat as the constituency has over one lakh Seemandhra voters. These Seemandhra voters have voted for the TDP. If the TDP and the Congress form an alliance, these votes would be transferred to the Congress candidate.
According to the TDP sources, Jubilee Hills seat is one seat where the TDP can easily win. Even if this is given to the Congress, the victory is assured as the Seemandhra voters will vote for the alliance. Hence both Bandla Ganesh and Vishnu Vardhan Reddy are vying for the same seat.
