X
IT industry in India relies heavily on H1-B visas for their on-site projects in the USA. Before Donald Trump came to power, there was a huge demand for H1-B visas. Though H1-B visa still in demand even now, Trump's tough immigration policies changed the approach of Indian IT companies. The companies giving preference native American over the Indians by decreasing the number of H1-B filings as per the latest reports.

There is a huge drop in the H1-B application as per the figures revealed by The United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS). When the USA introduced H1-B in 2007, they have received 3,14,621 applications. They have received 3,99,349 applications in 2016. When Donald Trump became the President, the number of application has dropped to 3,36,107 in 2017.

The number has been further dropped to 1,90,098 applications for the 2018-19 season till now. The figures clearly show that Trump's immigration policies are the main reason behind Indian companies changing their preference.
