ISROs PSLV-C38 places 31 Satellites in Orbit

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully placed as many as 31 Satellites (Cartosat-2s & 30 Nano Satellites) in the orbit using PSLC-C38. Out of 30 Nano Satellites, 29 of them were from 14 Different Nations.

PSLV-C38 took off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 9.29 am. This happen to be Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle's (PSLV) 40th FLight.

Within 16 minutes, PSLV-38 placed Cartosat-2 Series Satellite in the orbit. This satellite is 6th in the Cartosat-2 series.

Thereafter, 30 other satellites were placed in the orbit. One Nano Satellite was a creation by Students of Noorul Islam University in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. 29 Satellites are from 14 Countries (US, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Chile, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia and Lithuania).

On February 15 this year, ISRO set a record by launching 104 satellites through PSLV-37. Today, Second highest number of satellites (31) were launched with PSLV-C38. ISRO Chairman AS Kiran Kumar lauded the efforts of Scientists after Today's mission.
