Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had a very unique guest the other day. A young politician and his octogenarian grandfather called on Jagan at his residence. They were Nikhil Gowda, who contested and lost from Mandya in Mysore to Telugu actress Sumalatha. His grandfather was none other than former prime minister HD Devegowda. Devegowda, who lost elections from Tumkur, came along with his grandson to meet YS Jagan.
Both the gowdas are on a political tour. They met Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and then came to Amaravati to meet YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. After having a very animated and spirited chat, Jagan advised Nikhil, who just suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of BJP-backed actress Sumalatha, who is the wife of Vokkaliga stalwart and film super star Ambareesh, thus: ''Work hard. Whether you win or lose, keep working for your people, your constituency,''
In fact, Jagan's advice sure has come from his heart as he had toiled hard for over five years and worked among the people incessantly to win the elections with a staggering margin. His party has a bull-dozer majority in the Assembly. No one knows the value of hard work as YS Jagan. Needless to say, Nikhil Gowda went back fully energised.
