Vijayashanti maintained good relations with Former Tamil Nadu CM late Jayalalithaa. After her demise, She went all the way to Veda Nilayam in Poes Garden to meet VK Sasikala Natarajan.
Post the revolt of O Panneerselvam, Vijayashanti came in support of Sasikala Natarajan saying she deserves to be the CM of Tamil Nadu as majority of the AIADMK Legislators have been backing her leadership. She described O Panneerselvam as an evil spirit trying to detablilize AIADMK Government. The former actress claims that its her responsibility to ensure Chinnamma becomes CM and its her only goal at present.
Music Composer James Vasantham lambasted Vijayashanthi for provocative comments when the situation in Tamil Nadu is alarming. 'Does Vijayashanti feels she is a Political Legend? She is free enough expresses any of her views in her state. This isn't cinema but the future of Tamil People,' he fumed.
