Rs 1.61 crore Gold & Silver offered for Jayas recovery

A Group of five people paid a visit to the Chamundi Hills on Friday to donate gold and silver worth Rs 1.61 crore to the deities of Lord Ganesh and Hanuman. Donations have been made on behalf of Chennai's Sri Jaya Publications and Kodanad Estate in Nilgiris. Special puja has been performed by them wishing speedy recovery of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

The offerings of Sri Jaya Publications to Lord Ganesha include 1,689 grams of Gold and 4,852 grams of Silver. The total value of the articles stood at Rs 42,29,614.

The offerings of Kodanad Estate to Hanuman idol include 4,710 grams of Gold and 14,980 grams of Silver. The total value of the articles stood at Rs 1,18,47,543.

Ganesh and Hanuman idols have been decorated with the gold and silver articles offered to the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple. The articles include gold crown for Ganesha idol and gold kavacham for Hanuman idol.

Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa visited Sri Chamundeshwari Temple couple of times in the past.
