KCRs Rude Shock To Tenant Farmers

Telangana Government came up with the Rythu Bandhu scheme to provide financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per Acre in a calendar year to all the Farmers. The first installment of Rs 4,000 per acre has been disbursed already to the beneficiaries.

Tenant Farmers aren't happy with the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Why because, Cheques were issued by the State Government only to the actual owners of the land instead of them who toil hard in the agricultural fields.

CM K Chandrasekhar Rao explained why Tenant Farmers can't be the beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu sop. 'Government can provide financial assistance to land owner. It's up to the land owner to decide whether he should keep the money for himself or give it to the tenant farmer. If we offer money directly to the tenant farmers, Then it's like giving them ownership rights and legal issues will arise. This is why we scrapped Enjoyers column in the passbook. House Owners won't enter name of Tenants in enjoyers column of the property registration document. Then, How can Land Owners be forced?,' he questioned.
