Former Punjab Top Cop KPS Gill passed away at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi on Friday. He ages 82.

Doctors informed that KPS Gill died of Cardiac Arrest while recovering from Peritonitis. He was admitted to the hospital on May 18th this year.

KPS Gill served as Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) Twice. Known as Super-Cop, Mr.Gill was successful in crushing the Sikh Militancy in late 80s and early 90s. He was a recipient of Padma Shri honour in 1989. He retired from IPS in the year 1995.

PM Narendra Modi appointed KPS Gill as Security Advisor when he was Gujarat CM post Godhra riots in 2002. Upon knowing about the tragic news, NaMo tweeted: 'KPS Gill will be remembered for his service to our nation in the fields of policing & security. Pained by his demise'.
