Telangana NRI Policy Highlights

TRS Government is determined to introduce an exclusive NRI Policy to take care of the security, welfare and development of the Telanganites settled in foreign countries. The agenda is to be a role model for other States in the country when it comes to dealing with NRI Affairs.
During the meeting held at Haritha Plaza in Begumpet on Wednesday to finalize the NRI Policy, Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao told that Representatives of the Telangana organizations in various countries will be appointed as Diplomats of State Government. 'Government Machinery has already begun the exercise to identify the Telanganites in all the Nations. Fake Agents who were taking labourers to Gulf will be crushed. Publicity Campaign will begin to create awareness about the immigration laws among people traveling to Gulf. A new portal with Hindi, Telugu & Urdu languages will be introduced soon. We will be conducting 'Telangana Pravasi Divas' for Telangana NRIs to honour the Organizations, Agents and Individuals working for the welfare of NRIs. A Hospital will be established for addressing the Health Issues of Telanganites in Gulf using Public-Private Partnership model. We will soon meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to discuss about Insurance scheme for NRIs. An out-post will be set up at Airport for looking into the procedures to bring the bodies of the people who breathed their last in foreign soil,' he informed.
Higher Officials and Telangana NRIs from 20 Nations took part in the meeting. All of them lauded the efforts of State Government to improve the relations, brought few concerns to its notice and offered their valuable suggestions.
