Kamal Finds Fault With AMMA's U-Turn

Kamal Haasan found fault with the decision of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes) to revoke the expulsion of Dileep who is the prime accused in actress abduction and sexual assault case. He felt the Film Body should have sought the opinion of all of its members before reinstating Dileep.
During an interaction with media at the Manorama News Conclave 2018 in Kochi, Kamal Haasan stressed the need for gender equality not only in Film Industries but everywhere in the society. He, however, felt Gender Discrimination is less in Mollywood compared to other Industries. 'Still, Industry Folks feel there is a lot more to be done to improve gender equality,' he commented.
Kamal didn't mind saying reinstating someone facing criminal charges without proper discussions with all the members is wrong.
Following the backlash, Mohanlal who is the head of AMMA declared the move to lift the ban on Dileep was a collective decision of the general body. However, Most of the people weren't satisfied with the explanation and they kept questioning on what basis AMMA took an u-turn.
