Koleshwaram Project Tunnel Blast: 7 People died!

A huge tragedy took place during the works of Telangana Government's prestigious Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) on Wednesday. Air blast happened at the tunnel when the works were happening in Thippapur of illanthakunta Mandal, Siricilla district. While 7 Workers died, 3 others have been in serious condition.
Rescue Teams rushed the Injured to Karimnagar Government Hospital. The deceased were identified as the daily labourers from Uttar Pradesh.
Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is the costliest project taken up by Telangana Government till date. The estimated cost of the project is about Rs 80,500 crore. This project have the storage capacity of 148 tmc ft and it is expected to bring 7,38,851 hectares of land into irrigation. Close to 10 Districts of Telangana will get benefitted from this mega irrigation project.
