Congress-JD (S) Coalition Government on Tuesday lost the Trust Vote conducted in the Karnataka Assembly. While Congress-JD (S) received 99 votes, 105 MLAs voted against the Vote of Confidence. This development led to the collapse of the present government.
Karnataka Speaker told he will vote only if there is a tie between Congress-JD (S) and BJP. He refused to vote if there is no tie for saving the dignity of the chair.
Congress termed losing Trust Vote as a temporary defeat for democracy. It described the defeat a conspiracy of Anti-Constitution and Anti-Democratic BJP. Former Karnataka CM and Congress Leader Siddaramaiah questioned how can BJP destabilise a Stable Government for selfish reasons.
On the other hand, BJP treats Today's developments as a game of Karma and victory of Karnataka People. Party Leaders even promise stable government under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa.
While responding on the collapse of Congress-JD (S) Government, Former Jammu & Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti called it a dark day for Indian Democracy.
