Mission Old City Launched To Crush MIM

Expansion of AIMIM to various states in the country affected the vote bank of the Congress Party. Many Congress Candidates in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra faced defeat because of minority votes divided by AIMIM. This situation eventually benefitted BJP in these respective states.
Congress Party decided to take the fight against MIM in its own bastion, Old City in Hyderabad. Two months ago, Rahul Gandhi took potshots at MIM during the public meeting at Charminar.
Recently, Congress Minority Cell leader Nadeem Jhavid met Minority Leaders in Old City to seek feedback about the ground reality. If needed, Congress will be fielding it's National Level Minority Leaders in Assembly Constituencies represented by MIM. Strong candidates might be fielded in at least 4 out of 7 Segments in Old City.
For the Hyderabad Lok Sabha Segment, Telangana Congress Leaders have been preferring Mohammad Azharuddin as a Candidate. However, The Former Cricketer isn't ready to take any such risk.
