Ticket war had begun among the parties of Grand Alliance in Telangana. They were unable to reach an understanding even after repeated meetings at different stages.
Congress wishes to offer Tickets for all of its Sitting MLAs in Telangana. Whereas, T-TDP has been very particular about contesting from few segments represented by Congress Leaders. In 2014 Polls, Uttam Kumar Reddy's Wife Padmavati won from Kodada with a margin of around 13,000 votes. She wishes to retain her seat in the upcoming elections. On the other hand, TDP Leader Mallayya Yadav who had unsuccessfully contested from Kodada in last year is lobbying for the same seat.
If the reports are true, Congress High Command is keen to make Padmavati contest for Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat. Gutta Sukhender Reddy won on Congress ticket in last elections and migrated to TRS.
Padmavati, however, is of the view that contesting for Kodada MLA Seat is a safe bet and MP seat is too risky. She might only consider giving up the Kodada Ticket if Rahul Gandhi intervenes and offers an assurance.
TDP sought less than 20 seats from Congress. Denying even those few seats will prompt Telugu Desam to end the alliance.
