As many as four Top Judges of Supreme Court convened a press conference accusing the Chief Justice of India of assigning cases to wrong benches by flouting rules. Two more SC Judges has extended support to them. The fight was led by Justice Chalameswar and he threw the ball is people's court saying, 'Public should take a call of Chief Justice of India'.

Soon after the press conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a with Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. Even Chief Justice and Deepak Mishra who is facing allegations responded quickly. There are speculations about the possibility of Deepak Mishra submitting his resignation anytime soon to end the controversy.

Whereas, Union Government seems to be maintaining a strategic silence on this issue. Why because, There is every chance of facing allegations of political interference in matters related to Supreme Court if Centre takes a clear stand on it. Instead, Modi might be waiting to see the SC Judges resolve the dispute by holding talks among themselves.
