Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very active in the social media. He has a huge following in the social media as he comes up with the Government and party related updates Apart from sharing the updates, he responds on various issues including international affairs and sports. This makes Narendra Modi occupy the top position in the Twitter strike rate. But Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli has beaten Modi in this aspect.

According to the data released by Twitter for the year 2017, the number of Narendra Modi followers increased by 52% from 24.6 million to 37.5 million. Number wise it is a big increase. But if we consider the percentage, there is 61% increase in the Virat Kohli followers. This is 9% more than the Prime Minister of India. If we talk about the numbers 12.9 million people used to follow Virat Kohli last year. The number has touched 20.8 million this year.

On the other hand, Little Master Sachin Tendulkar following has been increased by 56%. This is the first time Sachin, Virat Kohli entered the Top 10 among the Indians. Surprisingly, Bollywood actors took a backseat in the list. 10.8 lakh tweets have been posted regarding India-Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy-2017 final match. This match occupied the top spot in sports trends of 2017.
