Nestle India resumed production of Maggi noodles at all the five manufacturing plants in the country on Monday.

Maggi noodles production takes place at Nestle India plants in Moga, Pantnagar, Tahliwal, Nanjangud and Bicholim.

After a five months ban, Nestle kickstarted Maggo noodles production from its Tahliwal plant in Himachal Pradesh on November 9th. By November 30th, Production began at rest of four plants as well.

Food Safety Authority of India imposed a ban on Maggi noodles after tests exposed the presence of lead content more then the permissible limit. During this phase, About 30,000 tonnes of noodles have been destroyed and the company incurred a loss of around Rs 450 crore. A class action suit was filed against Nestle India by the Consumer Affairs Ministry seeking Rs 640 crore in damages for false labelling and adverts.
